Frequently Asked Questions
Why does your furniture appear more expensive than other retailers?
We only want to sell high quality, well manufactured furniture. Most of our furniture is British made and we refuse to deal with cheaply made, mass produced, imported furniture. An important benefit of this is that we aren’t contributing to the “throw away” style consumerism that is environmentally unsustainable, consequently our carbon footprint is low.
Do you ever do Sales?
Rather than falsely inflate prices only to offer sales or discounts at the more usual times of year, we elected many years ago to keep prices consistent, and as fair as possible, all year round. We are not a mass production company and our pricing reflects the fact that we place an emphasis on producing a high quality product, using the best available materials and paying fair labour costs to make something specifically for you.
You may however see from time to time an item on our Flash Sale page so do keep a look out. They are one off's that will only appear once and when they are gone they are gone.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes we have done this quite a lot over the years. From Europe to USA to Far East and Australia. We have been very proud to see our furniture reside in some of the most fabulous properties (as well as a luxury Yacht!) around the world. You simply need to email us at [email protected] with what items you would like and where you would like them delivered to and we will provide you with a shipping quote.
5 Year Quality Guarantee
We are very proud of the fact that we receive a lot of repeat custom and are often told that the furniture they purchased from us over 10 years ago still looks as good today as the day they bought it. In short, if looked after, our furniture will last a lifetime. We do not advise using any abrasive cleaning products and suggest merely wiping down the furniture with a damp cloth when needed.
Is all your furniture British Made?
The vast majority of our children's furniture is made from scratch by us here in the UK. We support 40 skilled workers and their families and we are very proud to wave the 'British Made' flag. Our beds have been rigorously tested and certified to British Standards and our paint finish is the most durable on children's furniture that we have seen yet. We do also source a few collections from other suppliers who have stood out to us for their design as well as their craftsmanship.
Why do you charge for delivery and assembly?
Our furniture is solid and very heavy, it's most definitely not flatpack! Consequently, each item takes up a large amount of room on the vehicle and also requires 2 people to lift most items to enable us to offer delivery to room of choice. The added (optional) charge for assembly and removal of packaging merely contributes towards the cost of the time spent by the delivery men assembling your furniture and the cost of disposing of the packaging which is done in an environmentally sustainable way. In no way are either of these charges profit making, merely contributory.
How good is your children's furniture compared to other retailers/manufacturers?
Well it was good enough for the future King of England so obviously like to think we are the best! Rather than use well known review platforms that we believe can be easily manipulated we prefer to receive Google reviews which are truly independent so please do take a look (hint: Google "Little Lucy Willow Reviews"). The vast majority of our children's furniture is designed by us and made from scratch by our factory in England. Not only unique and exclusive, our furniture is unlike anything that you will see on the High Street. Let's just say that we want your child's furniture to be the envy of all their friends!
Can you make something bespoke?
The big advantage of manufacturing our own furniture means that we are able to offer a bespoke service. Although it adds a cost it isn't as much as you might think and nor will it increase the lead time. From bespoke colour, size or other modification simply email [email protected] for a price.
Do you accept returns?
As a responsible retailer, yes we do however it is important to mention here that in over 10 years of selling online we have only had a handful of children's furniture items returned for a full refund. With categoric assurance that is not something many, if any, other children's furniture retailers can say (if they were honest). That's not to say, as with any other business, we don't experience very occasional issues such as an item getting marked in delivery for example however any problem is always dealt with promptly and resolutely.
How does delivery work?
Once you have placed your order, either online through our website or by contacting us on 01257 733250, we will email you your order confirmation. As a general rule we aim to deliver any furniture order within 4-6 weeks. We have to make it first so please bear with us. Once we have transferred your order from our factory to our delivery company they will begin the process of scheduling your delivery and will contact you by text to confirm a day for delivery. If you are on holiday, or there is a delay with moving into your new home for example, it's not a problem however if you can provide us with as much notice as possible it is very helpful. The day before your delivery you will receive another text to confirm your time slot and a link to enable you to track the delivery vehicle on the day of your delivery. All furniture orders are delivered to your room of choice using our 2 man delivery team. If you have requested our assembly and removal of packaging service when placing your order this will automatically be done for you. Please remember that the items are heavy and often large so please ensure that you have cleared the path to the room for which they are intended.
Can you provide replacement parts or touch up paint if needed?
Yes we can. Simply email us at [email protected].
Do you sell to Trade?
Yes we do, we have dealt with a lot of Interior Designers and Architects over the years. Simply email us at [email protected] with details of what item(s) you would like together with your company details and we shall contact you.
What is the best way to clean painted furniture?
We recommend that you simply wipe down with a damp (not wet) cloth then go over with a dry cloth. We do not recommend using any abrasive cleaning fluids.
