So half term is almost upon us. Is it just me or is time whizzing by at the speed of a top Federer serve?
If you are dreading the prospect of a week with the children, then fear no more.
Here is my list of possible activities that you can print off and store in your handbag. Call it an insurance policy. My pleasure...
-
Go bonkers with conkers. Paint, stick, jewelleryfy, but first of all go out and collect them!
-
Bake, bake, bake. A great way to get your children interested in food should you be struggling. Buy a simple children’s cookbook and ask them to choose a recipe to make. This will definitely be on my shortlist.
-
Trampolining. No, not in the garden, at an indoor trampoline park. It’s fast and furious fun and will shift those extra pounds acquired from all those cakes you just ate…
-
Get the train to your nearest city and hop on a bus tour. It might seem strange to take a tour around a city you think you know so well but children love buses, that’s a given. And you might learn something useful too - or get through a few pages of your book!
-
Come and visit our Little Lucy Willow showroom in Heskin and see our beautiful children’s bedroom furniture for yourself.
-
Try something completely new and inspiring. Free running, ballroom dancing, zorbing!
-
Check out the ‘Get Creative Family Arts Festival’. Go to the website, tap in your postcode and discover what’s on near you.
-
Visit the Manchester Science Festival if you happen to be up that way. Back for its ninth year, there are more than 130 events in store to entertain and inform.
-
Arrange a play day with other mums. Take along some of the nicer, more sharable contents of your fridge - plus a bottle of prosecco (only one glass each obviously!). That’s another afternoon in the bag.
-
Halloween...Now that’s a whole new blog!
Have fun!
