My time being furloughed...

Hello, my name is Laura and I work for Little Lucy Willow. 

For the past two months I have been furloughed from Lucy Willow, but I am excited to be starting back to work next week. When the corona virus crisis first started it was a very worrying time for everyone. What was going to happen to our jobs? Will the business survive with our shop being closed? Thankfully, we sell most of our products online and my colleagues have managed to fulfil our accessory orders where possible (if we were able to get them from our suppliers) however all furniture orders have had to wait until our factory is up and running again. 

Our lives have been changed completely, from queueing to do a weekly shop to not being able to visit my Mum or Dad for fear they would catch the virus. However, looking back, I have enjoyed my time being at home with my boyfriend and my cat. I have been able to get all the jobs done on our house and garden that have been on my to do list since we bought our first house two years ago. If it didn’t move, I was painting it! I have even learned something new about myself, I am quite the gardener! I have been buying and learning about new plants and have thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow. 

At the beginning I was all for doing a workout every morning and eating as healthy as possible so that, when I came back, I would be a new woman.... it’s not happened though!
I think I have eaten and drank more than I ever have - treating myself to a biscuit with every single cup of tea; drinks whilst doing more zoom parties and quizzes than I can count. But this leads me onto why I cannot wait to go back to work. I am craving some normal routine in my life. Waking up and going to work, eating a set dinner I have prepared the night before. I miss my colleagues and the great conversations and friendship we have. I miss walking into our beautiful showroom filled with our stunning beds, my favourite at the moment being our new Looby Lou Bunk Bed. I miss sending out all our Children’s gifts and bedroom accessories and making sure the showroom is tidy and looking its best.

But most of all I miss interacting with our customers in our showroom and on our Facebook and Instagram and helping them with anything they need. I am ready to dust myself of and get back to having some form of routine in my life. I look forward to speaking to you all.
