Ok so here are the statistics...More than 50% of Little Lucy Willow customers opted to buy three quarter or double sized beds for their children last year.
It’s clear there has been a shift in the market but why?
Jason Thomas, Sales Director at Little Lucy Willow says it’s all down to sensible spending.
“It goes without saying that you need adequate space if you are going to purchase a double bed for your child, but those who have that luxury are choosing to buy bigger, simply to cut costs later on.
“It makes a lot of sense, especially if you are looking at a high quality product that will last for decades.
“It’s nothing short of an investment and a wise one at that.
“Take a Little Lucy Willow double bed for example, which is designed to grow with your child.
“It has the added benefit of two height settings, at its lowest measuring just 23cm between the floor and the top of the slats, an ideal height for a first bed.”
The idea of a double bed for a child might seem unnecessary if they are still at a young age. But if you are contemplating new bedroom furniture, then it’s probably savvy to consider the future beyond just childhood.
A single bed will always be adequate, but how long will it be before your child has grown into a young adult and desires more space?
Whether it’s five or more years down the line you could be facing yet another bedroom makeover if you haven’t spent wisely already.
Jason adds, “It’s not just the future that parents are considering when they choose to buy double beds.
“Some like to use their child’s room as a guest room too, so having a larger bed in that case makes perfect sense.”
But if that doesn’t sway you, just think of all those cosy bedtime stories cuddled up with teddies galore beneath gorgeous double bedding…
