Now all the business of fireworks is done and dusted, I’m sure you’re all busy mentally preparing for the onslaught of Christmas shopping.
It’s a daunting thought for those of us who haven’t even started. I overheard a lady telling her friend how she’d just bought her very last present – in September. Not only that, she’d got a cupboard full of wrapped ones at home too. My heart sank like a stone, how I wished it was me!
So now I’m compiling list upon list – and a list of my lists – as I attempt to make a start. What to get who? I can’t possibly buy ANOTHER variation of the footmuff for my mum, or a tedious golf-related gift for dad. I’m sure my sister wouldn’t be too thrilled if I turned up with one more recipe book to add to her never-been-touched collection either…I’d better get my thinking cap on.
As for the children, well that’s a little easier as I have lots ofbeautiful gifts at my disposal which you should take a look at too. Not least if you are struggling to buy for the child who has everything. You don’t want to buy something for the sake of it, and you’ve been left high and dry with the statement “oh she (or he) isn’t fussy” when we all know that if they don’t fancy that doll you bought very much, it will be gathering dust for the next five years.
So…have you ever considered a personalised gift? Something your little daughter, son, niece, nephew or grandchild can truly say belongs to them? Something to show off which proudly displays their name?
It might not be something they need, or even knew existed, but you can rest assured it will be treasured for years to come…
