Way-hey! It’s a new year and a new start. In theory, this means we should all be upbeat and positive, looking ahead to the great things 2015 has in store for us. Will this be the year we win the lottery? Find the man of our dreams (for those who haven’t already)? Or achieve unadulterated happiness and inner peace? Probably not, but we can dream!
Most likely we will spend the first month dieting furiously, battling to get into the oversubscribed gym wearing variations of garish lycra and avoiding all eye contact with alcohol should we fail in our quest for a “dry January”. Why make ourselves more miserable when we all know that normal service will have resumed by March?
As social media goes mad with clever little quotes about how we should approach 2015, I thought I would add my two penneth of practical pointers and hopefully give you a little boost from the January blues.
1. Plan a holiday. There’s nothing like that golden nugget on the horizon to see you
through.
2. Make a date with friends mid January. Give yourself a couple of weeks to relax after the
festivities and you’ll be ready to go again. Remind yourself how great it is to laugh and
chat with your besties.
3. Exercise. Even if it’s once round the block each day it’s a start. Get yourself a pedometer
and beat your own total. Lycra not required…
4. Eat well. I’m guessing you probably do this already but there are always new foods to be
discovered and enjoyed. Make a recipe for tip top health.
5. Set yourself a goal. Find something you’re good at and go for it!
And if all that fails, then why not think about re-vamping your home, or at least your little one’s bedroom? This month we have a special offer on our gorgeous Barney and Boo collection. If you can’t beat the blues then theres only one thing you can do – join them!
