So the inevitable has happened. The everlasting summer has finally bowed out leaving us fully immersed in the throes of Autumn. October is a beautiful and exciting month with lots in store to enjoy, not least half term, oh and Halloween too. “Whooooo” could forget that?
In the mean time, we are very happy to welcome a selection of beautiful children’s jewellery by Estella Bartlett to the fold. It is now on sale in our gift shop at Heskin as well as online. And if you want to be in with a chance of owning your very own gorgeous necklace, keep your eyes peeled for our forthcoming ‘hide the pumpkin’ competition…
Yes, we are so excited about the spooky celebrations that we will be giving away THREE pendants each Friday in October, until Halloween and our grand finale – with even grander prizes! To win, you must simply follow the clues and find the pesky pumpkin hidden somewhere on our website. It couldn’t be easier, or could it? Make sure you join us to find out for yourself in possibly the longest game of hide and seek you will ever play!
Well now you’re fully briefed on what’s on in October I’ll get back to enjoying my favourite time of the year. Being far enough away from both summer and winter, it’s the month when I feel most settled if I’m honest. I’m neither hankering after holidays nor thinking seriously about Christmas. It’s all about the three C’s for me. Contentment, conkers and (unfortunately) craft. Now I’m no lover of the old ‘cutting and sticking’ as you might have already gathered, but you see, no matter how hard you dodge and weave, you just can’t avoid it in October I’m afraid. If you ask me you might as well just surrender to it now. Go to The Range and fill your boots. Be a slave to the scizzors. Get stuck in. Literally. As proof of my determination to throw myself at it, I made a lovely conker heart with the children today. The 20 bags of leaves, acorns and remaining 4,000 conkers will keep me going for the rest of the month I’m sure. Sigh. Don’t even mention pumpkins…
