Little Lucy Willow
Sleep well, think better, work best.
As we are now in the thick of exam season spare a thought for all those teenagers thrust into the midst of a stressful few weeks – and spare a thought for their worried parents too.
I remember it well, the late night cramming, followed by a fitful sleep, followed by very little breakfast followed by a sweat-inducing, head-exploding exam! It isn’t pleasant so whatever us parents can do to help must be done.
We might not be able to write their essays for them, but we can help our teens get more sleep, which in turn will help them put in a better performance on the day. Not to men..
A child’s good night’s sleep is vital! But vital for who exactly?
As parents, we all want our children to have a decent, uninterrupted night’s sleep. It is drummed into us that such a thing is vital to their well being and we tell as much to our little ones.
However, I fear our reasons for packing the little monkeys off to bed before we’ve even cleared away their dinner plates is hardly a selfless act now is it?
I certainly wasn’t rattling through the multitude of sleep benefits as I was ushering Martha up the apples and pears last night. I was more concerned about missing Corrie. I could hear the credits rolling as I was cutting my daily deal w..

In the movie of your life, who would you like to play you?
I would like Jennifer Lawrence to play me as she is about my age and I love all the films she has been in. She is also a good role model to younger girls. I wouldn’t mind looking like her either!
Which song gets you dancing?
At the moment it’s got to be Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars. But the Spice Girls never fail to get me dancing. They remind me of when I was younger and used my bed as a stage to pretend I was Baby Spice.
What’s the best decision you ever made?
This is a hard one as I hav..

In the movie of your life, who would you like to play you?
Harrison Ford
Which song gets you dancing?
Anything with an electric guitar solo in it.
What’s the best decision you ever made?
To move to Lancashire as opposed to a little flat in Gloucestershire. I just wish it was a little closer to my family.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I had no idea and still don’t know now!
If you could give one piece of advice to a young person today, what would it be?
Clichéd I know but ‘make the most of everything’. As I approach my mid 4..
The future of Lucy Willow.
The past ten years have been an education for us. We have learned how to run a small business for one. We have also learned what it takes to build and sustain our success. But most of all, during those early days, we learned how to pick up the pieces and soldier on when things didn’t go quiteaccording to plan…But I suppose it wouldn’t feel like the achievement it does without a few mishaps along the way would it?
In all, we have had a great decade and are gradually becoming the company we want to be. We are constantly listening to what our customers want and respondin..
A day in the life…at Lucy Willow
Working at Little Lucy Willow is ever such a lovely job. Bathed in beautiful pastel shades, surrounded by gorgeous fabrics draped over fabulous beds…it’s not so much a job as a downright pleasure!
Except…we don’t spend an awful lot of time ooh-ing and ahh-ing over new furniture designs or bedspreads and we certainly don’t get much chance to sit down on said beds – inviting though they are!
No, we are on our feet, talking to customers and when we’re not doing that we are in the office on the phone, taking orders, answering queries and generally chatting about children’s furni..

It’s our ten year anniversary! But where did it all begin?
Well, where do I start? The past ten years have gone in the blink of an eye, such has been our workload, not to mention the arrival of our two beautiful, funny, energetic daughters, Lucy and Martha! But here we are and this is what we have achieved through a decade of long working days, very little sleep, a smidgen of time off and a few heart stopping bank statements…
Growing up I wanted two things. To run my own business and be a mum. I never really thought how the two would go together but when they happened within months of each other I soon found out.
I started our parent c..
